  • Jay Miralles, Co-Founder

    Jay Miralles is the Co-Founder of the 50 Mile March Foundation, Inc. He provides strategic leadership to eight board members and mentors them in developmental planning for reaching the Foundation’s full potential. Jay has served three times as the mission commander for the 50 Mile March, ensuring the safety of every participant.

    In 2020, he led five individuals in the first-ever 50 Mile March from Lincoln to Omaha. Hoping to raise $2,500 for homeless Veterans, his small army raised $25,000. This grassroots work has grown every year, with 87 walkers completing the most recent march, raising nearly $500,000.

    Jay is a state growth consultant for Farm Bureau Financial Services and a realtor for Better Homes and Gardens, The Good Life Group. Jay is married and the father of two children.

    Jay proudly served 10 Years of Active Duty with the USAF.

  • Brianne Schuler, Executive Director

    Brianne Schuler is the Executive Director for the 50 Mile March Foundation, Inc. Brianne brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit administration, fundraising, and community building, furthering the foundation’s mission of empowering veterans through a community of relentless support.

    Having obtained her Master of Public Administration – Nonprofit Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Brianne has distinguished herself as a leader capable of driving significant impact. She is passionate about the Nebraska nonprofit community and has had the opportunity to serve a number of organizations both locally and nationally.

    Brianne is married and the step-mother to two children.

  • Leon Haith, Director of Operations

    Leon Haith is the Director of Operations for the 50 Mile March Foundation, Inc. He oversees the board and guides members in executing the strategic vision and goal setting opportunities for the Foundation. Leon also volunteers during the annual 50 Mile March as the Operations and Logistics Element Lead, directing 40 people and 13 vehicles. Leon serves as a lead Ambassador for the Foundation, communicating the mission of the 50 Mile March to community organizations.

    Prior to his current position, Leon served as a district administrator for the Blair Community Schools. In this role, he provided oversight for transportation, food services, and was the director for special education.

    Leon is a retired Command Sergeant Major in the United States Army. He served distinctively for 34 years, with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Leon is married and the father of two children.

  • Adam Cassidy, President

    Adam Cassidy is the President of the Board of Directors for the 50 Mile March Foundation, Inc. In this role he provides input on the planning and execution of the Foundation’s goals. Adam also volunteers as a walker during the annual 50 Mile March.

    Adam currently works as a safety professional for Werner Enterprises, a leader in the transportation and logistics industry. He has worked for Werner for nine years.

    Adam served in the United States Air Force for 17 years, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. He is married and the father of three children.

  • Kim Kavulak, Treasurer

    Kim Kavulak is a Board Member and Treasurer for 50 Mile March Foundation, Inc. She advises the board on expenditures and keeps the financial records for the Foundation. Kim is also responsible for acquiring radio advertising for the annual 50 Mile March.
    Kim has a passion of brining people together and is always a great host. She quickly jumped in 2021 and was a catalyst for growing the mission.

    Kim and her husband Paul, a Veteran himself, founded Nebraska Brewing Company in La Vista. Along with owning NBC, Kim is a community leader in supporting Veteran causes in the Omaha metro area.

    Kim is married and the mother of three children.

  • Martin Apprich

    Martin Apprich is a Board Member for the 50 Mile March Foundation, Inc. In this position, he advises the board on mission related objectives. Martin writes the operational order for the annual 50 Mile March, ensuring walkers are informed of situational awareness during the 22-hour event. He also served as the operational commander for the 2023 50 Mile March.

    Martin currently serves as the Chief Data Scientist for the United States Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base.

    Martin is a retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel who served 28 years as an Infantry Officer. Martin is married and the father of two children.

  • Theresa McClatchey

    Theresa McClatchey is a Board Member for the 50 Mile March Foundation, Inc. In this role, she provides input on strategic decisions affecting the Foundation. During the annual 50 Mile March, Theresa volunteers with the support element in providing assistance to active walkers.

    Theresa currently serves as a commercial lender for U.S. Bank. She has 14 years of banking experience which fuels her passion for empowering business owners’ growth in the community. She is well connected and can be counted on to create great connections.

    Theresa and her two children are active in health, sports and the outdoors.

  • Jerry Teeter

    Jerry Teeter is a Board Member for the 50 Mile March Foundation, Inc. In this role, he provides input on the strategic goals of the Foundation.

    Jerry is the founder and CEO of Mr. Car Shipper, car shipping service for consumers who are moving from one state to another. He is also the CEO of Lead Innovations, a mobile digital billboard franchise company, and the CEO of Legion Properties, specializing in commercial properties in Omaha.

    Jerry volunteers in his local church and is involved in his children’s activities. Jerry is married and the father of 3 children.

  • Joe Wilson

    Joe Wilson is a Board Member for the 50 Mile March Foundation, Inc. He assists with setting the strategic vision and builds collaborative relationships with local non-profits and key stakeholders. Joe leads the Board in communicating the goals of the Foundation to the 50 Mile March community and corporate sponsors. Joe has participated in the 50 Mile March since 2021.

    Joe is a computer security expert whose career included five years as the Chief of a major Department of Defense (DoD) Network Operations and Defense Center (NOC) before entering the private sector. He also served as the security architect, strategist, and Manager of Security Operations for a Fortune 250 food company prior to joining CSG International.

    Joe now serves as the Chief Information Security Officer and is responsible for protecting customer as well as company assets for CSG International 24/7. Joe is married and the father of three children.
